Before meeting Rachel, I was struggling with a new diagnosis of Hypothyroidism, debilitating fatigue, muscle weakness, joint pain, low energy, brain fog, constant bloated feelings, difficulty sleeping, and frequent headaches. Before I started working with Rachel, I had developed a long list of symptoms that were making it hard for me to just enjoy my everyday life. Some of it I figured would just go away with time, and had to do with having young kids and being postpartum. Other things I thought I could fix myself by being “healthy” and taking supplements or things I would just have to live with because I was getting “older” (I’m not even 30 yet!) These symptoms were: excessive hair loss (at 2 years postpartum), Extreme fatigue, Acne, Joint pain, Constantly having colds, Lingering Postpartum depression/ anxiety/ mood swings, No motivation, Trouble falling asleep, Bloating, PMS. Acne is something I’ve struggled with since I was a teenager, I started to notice these other symptoms around the time of my first pregnancy which was right around 5 years ago. Over the last 5 years I started just not feeling good or like myself any more and knew there had to be something more going on in my body that the labs I had run in my doctors office wasn’t covering. (The only thing my doctor said with my labs were I had slightly low iron and vitamin D). I’ve tried a plethora of supplements, vitamins, therapy, started working out 5 to 6 days a week. Tried eliminating some foods for a few weeks, gentle cleanses, anti- anxiety medication. Some of these things “helped” but was more of a bandaid fix vs. getting to the root of things and truly healing my body from the inside out.
